Color My World Recital 2024
Famous American artist Georgia O’Keeffe commented, “I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way; things I had no words for.” At Dance Expressions we believe dance gives our students the same ability to express themselves in ways they wouldn’t be able to otherwise. That’s why we are so happy to be showcasing all of our dancers in our Color My World 2024 Recital this coming weekend!
Our theme perfectly matches the vibrant year we have enjoyed here at the studio. Every day we found ourselves somewhere on the spectrum of the rainbow. There was a red bold start to the year with students and teachers full of energy ready to race into a new season of dance. These days softened and faded into orange earth tones as everyone dug into the hard work of learning new patterns and perfecting technique. There were dots of purple passion when we all came together to share our love for others through dance. One example was when our company dancers were able to perform for a meaningful cause, like the HOPE concert. There were days that we felt blue from minor set backs or having to say a “farewell for now” to our beloved Ms. Clarissa. But there were also plenty of golden sunshiny yellow days where our students won awards and scholarships at competetiotins or workshops, not to forget a fabulously bright performance at Bowiefest from so many of our dancers just this past month. Through it all there was a strand of green growth as all of our dancers from our youngest to our oldest grew in their confidence, ability, and determination to shine. Our dancers have truly flourished and thrived this year!
Because of that, we are beyond thrilled to take the stage in living color this weekend. Be sure to join us for one of our 4 performances, and be ready to enjoy our fabulous dancers and artists!
