Taking Ballet at DE Will Make Your Dancing “En Pointe”!
Ballet is an extensive dance genre involving artistry, technical proficiency, physical prowess, and self-expression. At our studio, we believe in offering a holistic ballet education. Our curriculum is based on the foundations of the Cecchetti method while utilizing other ballet methods in our non-syllabus classes. All these different facets of our teaching at Dance Expressions are crafted to complement each other and provide each dancer with a well-rounded ballet education.
Our studio’s non-syllabus classes are just as important as our Cecchetti syllabus classes! One of the pillars of our DE curriculum is providing equitable dance education across the board in all genres. Whether your dancer is in a syllabus or non-syllabus ballet class, they will still receive the foundational knowledge necessary to progress in their dance journey. For ballet, this includes proper alignment, turn-out, use of the legs, proper French ballet terminology, and more!
Our syllabus classes use The Cecchetti Method, founded by the renowned Italian ballet master Enrico Cecchetti, emphasizing a strong technical foundation and body awareness. The syllabus is thoughtful and structured, providing a clear progression of skills and techniques through the grades. Students enrolled in Cecchetti classes can be presented for exams at their teacher’s discretion, provided by the Cecchetti Council of America (CCA) for each level they progress through.
Our studio’s involvement with the Cecchetti method and organizations like the CCA provide fantastic learning opportunities for students and teachers. On Saturday, October 19th, and Sunday, October 20th, our CCA’s chapter will hold its fall conference at our studio! This is an excellent extra training opportunity for dancers to take workshops from different master teachers.
